PRISM
Pathway for Rapid, Internet-based, Self-referral to Mental health services for youth
Project Summary
PRISM is a multi-site pilot research project that aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the use of an online self-referral pathway to facilitate rapid and direct access to mental health services for youth and families.
Through this pathway, youth with mental health concerns will be able to refer themselves directly to youth health and social services using their phone, computer, or tablet. Parents and service providers will also be able to refer a young person to services via PRISM. Clinicians will be able to triage, track, and manage referrals through a secured referral management platform.
PRISM has been developed, launched, and tested in a Canadian site located in Chatham-Kent, Ontario and Downtown, Montréal, QC, and is currently being tested in a second site in Montreal (Aire ouverte: https://www.quebec.ca/sante/trouver-une-ressource/aire-ouverte).
For more information on the evaluation, our trial registry is available here: https://doi.org/10.1186/ISRCTN17846723
