YMHtech Lab welcomes new lab members to the team!

Le laboratoire SMJ-techno accueille plusieurs nouveaux membres du laboratoire dans son équipe!

Antoine is a third-year undergraduate Psychology student at the Concordia University. He is interested in the role technology can play in providing mental health care to youth by making services more accessible to them. He is currently involved in the HoryzonsCa project as well as other research projects within the lab.

Antoine étudie la psychologie au premier cycle à l'Université Concordia, il est présentement en troisième année. Il s’intéresse au rôle que la technologie peut avoir dans la distribution de soins en santé mentale chez les jeunes. Il voit l’innovation technologique comme une façon à travers laquelle il est possible d’augmenter l’accessibilité des soins. Il est présentement impliqué dans le projet HoryzonsCA ainsi que dans d'autres projets de recherche du laboratoire.

Kawtar completed a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Life Sciences, and is currently a medical student at the University of Ottawa. She is interested in the delivery of mental health services to youth, and how we can reduce accessibility barriers to mental health services. As a returning research intern, she worked on the YEMHR study in addition to other research projects with the lab.

Kawtar a complété un baccalauréat en sciences avec une mineure en sciences de la vie et elle est présentement étudiante en médecine à l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle s’intéresse aux façons à travers lesquels il serait possible d’augmenter l’accessibilité des services en santé mentale chez les jeunes. En tant que stagiaire d’été , elle a travaillé sur le projet JePARLE ainsi que sur d’autres projets du laboratoire.

Nagi is a recent graduate from McGill University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology, a minor in Behavioral Science, and a minor in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies. He is interested in exploring the utility of an intersectional approach in understanding the experience of youth mental health and the treatment of psychiatric conditions. During his time in the YMHTech lab, Nagi will be working on the HoryzonsCa project as a research assistant and clinical moderator.

Nagi est un récent diplômé de l'Université McGill où il a complété un baccalauréat ès arts avec une majeure en psychologie, une mineure en sciences du comportement et une mineure en études sur le genre, la sexualité, le féminisme et la justice sociale. Il souhaite explorer l'utilité d'une approche intersectionnelle pour comprendre l'expérience de la santé mentale chez les jeunes et le traitement des troubles psychiatriques. Pendant son séjour au laboratoire YMHTech, Nagi travaillera sur le projet HoryzonsCA en tant qu'assistant de recherche et modérateur clinique.

Orlando is currently a candidate for the MEng. Systems Security Information at Concordia, before that he obtained a Master's degree in IT Management at the University of Barcelona and a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering in Peru. As an IT Manager, Orlando is an enthusiast of applied technology for the psychological and mental development of youth and children.

Orlando est candidat à la maîtrise en ingénierie en Informations sur la sécurité des systèmes à l’Université Concordia. Avant cela, il a obtenu une maîtrise en gestion informatique l'Université de Barcelone et un baccalauréat en ingénierie des systèmes au Pérou. En tant que gestionnaire informatique, Orlando est un enthousiaste de la technologie appliquée au développement psychologique des jeunes.

Julia is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of British Columbia. Her research has focused on mental health, substance use, and political polarization among teens and young adults. She is also interested in the promises and challenges associated with the use of technology in health and higher education settings. Julia was a part of the lab in its early days (2016), and is back with the lab as a volunteer on the PRISM project conducting interviews and helping with other research tasks.

Julia est candidate au doctorat en sociologie à University of British Columbia. Ses projets de recherche antérieur ont porté sur la santé mentale, la consommation de substances et la polarisation politique chez les adolescents et les jeunes adultes. Elle s'intéresse également aux bienfaits et aux défis associés à l'utilisation de la technologie dans les milieux de la santé et de l'enseignement supérieur. Julia a fait partie du laboratoire à ses débuts (2016), et est de retour au sein du laboratoire en tant que volontaire sur le projet PRISM, menant des entretiens et participant à d’autres tâches de recherche.
