WHO WE ARE

The International Youth Mental Health and Technology Collective (YMHtech) conducts research on the well-being and resilience of youth in relation to technology (e.g., social media, AI, digital health).

YMHtech was originally founded and directed by Dr. Shalini Lal, when she was the Canada Research Chair in Innovations for Youth Mental Health, a title award given by the Government of Canada through peer-review process.

Canada Research Chairs are bestowed to world-class professors for achieving research excellence in Canadian institutions.

Dr. Lal is now a Full Professor at the University of Sydney, Australia.

The Collective represents the international focus of our team’s work, managed through satellite offices in Australia and Canada.
